Introduction

Welcome to Keep Libery Alive!!!

Part One

In Part One, we discuss the reasons and circumstances that led to the Pilgrims and others deciding to leave England and start a new life in the New World.

Episode One

 After leaving England for Amsterdam, due to religious and economic reasons, the Pilgrims depart for the New World aboard the Mayflower.

 The Pilgrims arrive in the New World to start a new life while earlier settlers in Jamestown continue to expand in the Virginia area.

 Colonial settlers encounter and establish relationships with the Indigenous Peoples.

 The North American English Colonies continue to expand as new settlers arrive from Europe.  


Part Two

After establishing colonies in North America, relations between the Settlers and King George III and Parliament become strained.

 In this episode we explore the beginnings of turmoil and distrust between the American Colonies and the motherland, England.  Welcome to Part Two!

 King George III and Parliament continue to take advantage of the American Colonies. 


Part Three

After having enough of English tyranny, the American Colonists begin the process of separation from British rule.

 The American Colonies are finally fed up with English tyranny, leading to rebellion.

 George Washington and the Continental Army fight and successfully repel the English forces from Boston. 


Part Four

In Part Four we will explore the arduous task of gaining independence from England.

 General Washington receives the finalized Declaration of Independence while preparing for the Battle of Long Island.  Explore the document with us in this episode detailing the grievances the colonies had in justifying their separation from England.

After retreating from New York, General Washington and his army accomplish two small, but significant, victories to end 1776.
